Hoptimist symbolise optimism, joy and a belief in possibilities. Most smiles start with another smile. Hoptimists smile at you and wait for your response. Needs a smile, perhaps a slight tap to get the figure moving. They repay by bouncing up and down, powered by surplus energy.
Gustav Ehrenreich created the happy movement in the late 1960s, which has gone on to earn itself a place in Danish design history.
All Hoptimists are still designed, produced and assembled by hand in Denmark.
