SUMMER MONOCHROME

It might not be the first trend that comes to mind when you think of your summer wardrobe, but this year Black and White has been one of the biggest stories on the catwalks.

Red mag says...’Why not update your summer outfits with one of the easiest to wear SS13 trends – summer monochrome. This look is all about one focus colour, so whether you want to go head to toe black or for a full white look we’ve found the best monochrome pieces for both. 

Monochrome has been the name of the game for lots of designers including Chloe (shown above), Marc Jacobs, Roland Mouret and Stella McCartney.

At our recent fashion show the Monochrome section had a great response! It’s just so wearable – no bright colours to be afraid of – and of course it works in perfectly with your existing wardrobe! It’s the no-brainer of the season - easy to wear & easy to accessorise.

We showed a cute little vintage-inspired white day dress from Indi & Cold with tan sandals for day. A fab-U-lous black & white gown with a hint of gold from Almost Famous – just the job for a special occasion. And two black maxi dresses from Pamplemousse that work perfectly for day or eve depending on how you accesorise them! We showed them dressed down for day with layering and bright sandals, but you could just as easily dress them up with killer heels and statement jewellery.

Apparently, it’s even on trend for brides...so says Vera Wang! Umm – the jury’s still out on that one!
